Project-Production
Alignment Lab
This lab focuses on those interfaces where project management and production are interdependent—specifically, on what each side requires, when it is needed, and where information is delayed, distorted, or even lost. These key areas of focus provide a clear framework for the work, while the precise direction of the lab is determined by your actual interfaces, timelines, and information flows.
That is why this lab does not follow a fixed agenda.
How the lab works
This lab combines structured room work with targeted exposure to the shop floor. The team starts by making current planning assumptions visible, then checks them against production reality and needs through observation and focused conversations on the floor. What is confirmed is pulled directly into the next work step. What is unclear is named, not glossed over. The result is a shared view of where planning, timing, handoffs, and resource assumptions need to be aligned.
What gets clarified
- What production needs to know about the project, and when
- What project management needs from production at each critical phase
- Where information arrives too late, too vaguely, or not at all
- Which handoffs, dependencies, and timing assumptions create risk
- Who needs to be involved when production availability or project scope changes
- Which open points can be confirmed immediately, and which need escalation
What the team leaves with
- A shared project-production alignment map
- Clearer production interface points across the project timeline
- Agreed communication triggers and escalation paths
- Defined responsibilities for critical handoffs
- Confirmed next steps for the current project
- A 30/60/90 plan to carry the work forward
